In this process, the blood is pumped out of your body to the machine wherein it passes through a series of tiny tubes in dialyzer also known as an artificial kidney. The tubes are made of a special membrane that allows waste products and fluids to pass across it. Dialysate- a clear liquid is passed outside the tubes in the opposite direction. As the blood passes in one direction and the dialysate in the other the waste passes into the dialysate which is then pumped out of the machine and clean blood is pumped back into the body.” sc_image=”741″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][doctor_sectiontitle sc_title=”How long does a patient have to undergo Dialysis?”][vc_column_text]Once kidneys have failed permanently, patients need dialysis indefinitely.
